A drone policy is likely a great idea for Homeowner Associations. A drone is like a little unmanned flying object that is technologically controlled and has the potential to, very soon, helicopter its way down to a local site or home location delivering a product. It is a way that a person no longer needs to get in their car and go to the store, but rather could order a product at a local store, online, and then have it delivered to their home quicker than if it was something a person went to pick up himself or herself.
This technological advancement will likely transform the way that life is done as we know it. With that said, it could have malfunction, as anything in life that is possible. Knowing we do not live in a perfect world, one must be prepared for the mishaps that could occur. Imperfect people, technological mishaps, and potential errors could result in packages dropping on people, children, pets, cars or other things that will cause damage or injury. Therefore, it will be good for an association to start considering what options one might have with drones as well as trying to know a good format for considering the options of drones. Completely disregarding the potential for drones within the community will limit the people who will be interested in moving into the complex, so it is important to be both open-minded and safe.
