Three vehicles were stolen and one broken into in a Lake Murray condominium over the course of three days, leaving residents feeling on edge.
The first theft involved a 2013 Audi Q7. The owner left the car running briefly while retrieving an item from his home. Within moments, the car, along with valuable work equipment and a spare key for his wife’s vehicle, was stolen. Their 2016 Yukon XL was also taken the following day, compounding the family’s distress.
Another theft involved a 2015 Cadillac ATS, which the owner believed was locked. A 2020 Honda Civic was also broken into, and a wallet containing military ID cards and credit cards was stolen.
Residents say this level of crime is rare for their community, which is typically considered safe. The local sheriff’s department has increased patrols in the area while continuing investigations. The HOA has urged residents to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables inside.
Despite the incidents, some residents remain hopeful that the stolen vehicles will be recovered and normalcy will return.
