Reston Association has finally launched its new website with a redesigned interface. The community has been working on it for years.
New Website Launch
On September 12 (Thursday), the Reston Association finally launched its new website with a more user-friendly interface. It also has new features where members can sign up for custom text and email alerts. Moreover, the site has a navigation feature that helps redirect users to other pages.
RA CEO Mac Cummins told the press he has heard about the members’ desire for a new and more comprehensive website. The association is proud to announce the new website to the community. It is a more robust tool for members and has incorporated their wishes. It’s more convenient, content-rich, and innovative.
The board selected Civic Plus as its designer. The four-year contract cost $124,894 and included annual licensing, technical support, and hosting costs. Reston Association started the project after outdated software forced the community to remove its old website. In the meantime, the association opted for a temporary platform using SquareSpace in 2020. However, a consultant later pointed out stability and security issues that cost the community $46,000.
According to the community’s Communications Director, Cara O’Donnell, the website will be enhanced with new features in the succeeding months, including a consolidation of third-party platforms and mobile app development. The third-party platforms currently host the community’s functions and events calendar. Residents may still access the new website at reston.org.
