A large hole has formed in the backyard of one woman who lives in a Richland County neighborhood. The other residents are concerned and are now trying to fix the issue.
Large Hole in Backyard
Robin Odems lives in the Cameron Ridge Subdivision off Caughman Road. According to her, the large hole in her backyard has been a problem for nearly a year. She and the other residents consider it a dangerous situation. Odems reached out to the builders, Ryan Homes, numerous times since August 2023.
Odems says the warranty manager looked at the large hole several times and said they would take care of it. However, the hole has gotten larger over time. Unfortunately, they said it was an HOA problem, and no work has been done to resolve it.
Concerned Neighbors
James Mammes is one of the neighbors who agrees the mismanagement is absurd. Mammes says they are trying their best to work with the developer and builder — but they are not helping. They have seen the large hole themselves.
Meanwhile, other neighbors think that holes like these could be a disaster just waiting to happen. The hole could cause accidents and injure whoever happens to slip down the hole. These injuries and potential deaths could lead to a lawsuit.
The homeowners association management group’s president affiliated with Ryan Homes said they know the issue. According to them, they will ask the developers to fix the large hole. However, when the staff at WIS News 10 asked for a timetable of when the developers could fix the problem, they could not provide one.
