The HOA fees in an Antioch condominium have risen by 75%. Homeowners do not know why their fees are being raised so much and are angry with the HOA.
HOA Fees Rise by 75%
The Lenox Creekside Condominium HOA fees have risen by 75% without explanation. According to homeowner Bill Bartolovich, the fees were $145 at the start of 2023. Now, they have risen to $255. However, he says the HOA board seems to have no financial visibility.
Michale McLendon, another homeowner in the Antioch condominium, has added they want to know what the money is being used for. Most homeowners associations provide detailed financial statements, such as balance sheets and cash disbursement journals, to their homeowners.
Community Mismanagement
Homeowners also say no board election has been held for the past 8 years. Tammy Duvall, a different homeowner, explains that the president has selected every board member. Duvall says there is no trust, which has driven people out. Some have even taken second jobs to pay for the high association fees.
He also adds that they are denying homeowners the right to voice their opinions by not following annual member meetings and allowing three of the meeting dates to obtain a quorum. Homeowners feel they are not being fairly treated. Nonetheless, homeowners say they will continue to fight until the board hears their voices.
