How do I know what is a violation in my community?

Your Governing Documents definitively feature the violations in your community. Most communities follow the same general guidelines, such as:

Make sure your landscaping and exterior of your home is well maintained.
Don’t leave things or trash out in your yard
Don’t make too much noise during quiet times
Ensure all exterior changes to your property are approved the HOA

What can my HOA do about violations?

Many homeowners call and email about violations in the community that they are rightly concerned and/or upset about. However, there is only so much an HOA can do to enforce its rules.

1. Warning Letters – Many HOAs choose to send Warning Violation Letters to homeowners once a violation has been identified. Many times, this helpful reminder is all that’s necessary for the violating homeowner to correct the issue.
2. Fines – After letters have been sent, HOAs have the right to fine their homeowners because of violations. Fines can vary from $15/month to $100/day depending on the violation and community.

Even with both of these enforcement methods, sometimes, it is not enough to convince the violator to correct the situation.

You can submit an anonymous report by filling out the form on this page or emailing Violations@mycmg.com Please be sure to include the Community name, violators address and a picture. All communication must be in by email or mail. If you are unable to email us, please mail the reporting and picture to  PO Box 481349 Charlotte, NC 28269.

 

I received a violation notice and I have resolved the issue. How do I notify the HOA?

You can fill out the form on this page or email Violations@mycmg.com to notify us that your violation has been resolved. We ask that you include a picture to show the violation has been cured.

I received a violation notice but I cannot cure the violation with the specified time frame.

I received a violation and I want to see a picture.

There will be a Property ID and Notice ID on all letters. This allows all owners to view their violation online without having to email us requesting a picture.

Did you receive a hearing notice, but have already resolved the violation?

Please email Fines@mycmg.com with a picture of your cured Violation.

Do you have fines on your account due to a violation and want to speak with someone about them?

Please email Fines@mycmg.com with your inquiries or updates.
