There’s no doubt alway a lot going on in your homeowners association each year, from projects, to social events to regular maintenance and inspections.
Plus, there are newsletters to send out, the website to keep up-to-date, committees to manage, and don’t forget managing the landscaping, the budget, elections… the list goes on and on.
Sometimes it can feel really overwhelming for the board when trying to juggle all of this madness. But there are some ways you can take a little weight off yourselves while also improving your HOA:
Get Homeowners to Lend a Hand
You’ll have some owners who love being involved in their community, so encourage them to help out with areas they’re passionate about, such as:
Helping renovate amenities
Planning community get-togethers and parties
Updating association guidelines
Redesigning the landscaping of common areas
Creating plans of success for the association (and since they live there and can see things from a resident’s point of view, they have a valuable perspective to bring to the table)
Getting homeowners to participate in the community is an amazing way to improve the quality of your association and help out your board of directors in the process. And it doesn’t have to be more than just a few hours per month to make a difference!
If you haven’t already, recruit involved homeowners to also start or run committees in the HOA. They’ll be able to help in making decisions the board might not have as much time to address and acting as a voice for the owners in your community.
